Paul’s first eye for arcades was when he owned a takeaway sandwich shop in Bondi in the 60’s. The shop was next to Bondi Beach Public school, located right on Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach. He had a guy bring couple pinballs into the shop on a 50/50 collection basis (profit share) This was his first taste arcade games.
Paul had Frenches Tavern from 1972-1991
The first machine
Paul bought his first machine called (Depth Charge) (Joystick game) which was used in the Tavern. (20c coin per game). He then later went on to buy a few pinballs, as they were the big hit especially in taverns. This was before the video game era popped off.
He then started to put machines into shops, milk bars, sporting complexes. On a profit share coin collection.
Expansions
He opened up an arcade at Cabramatta in the 80’s. It then grew to be 2 arcades in Cabramatta as well as 1 in Blacktown, Parramattta, Fairfield, mount Druitt. Plus he had machines in other arcades but the arcades were owned by other people.
Cabramatta, Fairfield, Mount Druitt and Black town were all owned by Paul. Over time as he closed the arcades, with Cabramatta been the last to close in 2014
Today's Time Gone Amusements
He was also hiring machines since his first machine and throughout the arcades time but then went to focus solely on hires & sales after closing the last arcade.
Ever since, his been hiring out machines on a full time basis.
